Independent, Objective, Defensible Evaluations
We provide forensic and administrative mental health evaluations for professionals, organizations, and referring entities that require clear, objective, and well-documented clinical opinions. These evaluations are designed to support decision-making, not treatment, and are conducted with strict attention to neutrality, scope, and professional standards.
What Is a Forensic Evaluation?
A forensic evaluation is a structured clinical assessment conducted for an administrative, legal, or regulatory purpose. Unlike therapy, forensic evaluations:
- Are not confidential in the same way as treatment
- Do not establish a therapist-client relationship
- Are completed to address a specific referral question
- May be shared with licensing boards, Physician Health Programs (PHPs), employers, courts, or legal counsel
Our role is to provide an independent opinion, grounded in clinical expertise, records review, and objective data.

Our Evaluation Process
Each evaluation is tailored to the referral question and may include:
- Comprehensive clinical interview
- Review of medical, psychiatric, substance use, employment, and licensure records
- Collateral interviews (with proper authorization)
- Psychological or clinical assessment tools when appropriate
- Risk, functional, and professional capacity analysis
A written report is provided to the referring entity outlining findings, limitations, and professional opinions.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is a forensic evaluation confidential?Forensic evaluations are not confidential in the same way as therapy. Information obtained during the evaluation may be shared with the referring entity (such as a PHP, licensing board, employer, or legal authority) as outlined in your consent.
Is this the same as therapy or counseling?No. Forensic evaluations are not treatment and do not establish a therapist-client relationship. The evaluator's role is to provide an independent, objective opinion for administrative or regulatory purposes.
Who receives the evaluation report?The written report is typically provided to the referring entity. In some cases, a summary or feedback may be shared with the individual being evaluated, depending on the referral agreement and consent.
What happens if the evaluation is required or mandated?If participation is mandated by a PHP, licensing board, or employer, failure to participate or cooperate may have consequences determined by that entity. The evaluator does not make disciplinary decisions.
How long does a forensic evaluation take?The length varies depending on the referral question, records reviewed, and whether collateral contacts or testing are required. Most evaluations occur over one session, followed by report preparation.
Will the evaluator advocate for me?No. The evaluator remains neutral and objective and does not provide advocacy or legal representation.

Are evaluations conducted in-person or virtually?We offer in-person evaluations at our Mechanicsburg, PA and Harrisburg, PA offices as well as offer virtual evaluations.
